Legendary Survivor
Hi All
When I first created my Guildwars character I did not really know about titles and stuff, so I have decided to create a new character to muck around with for titles. After reading some posts and guides it seems legendary survivor is the best first title to get. After reading posts it seems the two best ways to gain the exp needed for this title is either the boxing in EOTN or Kuzrik Hero Faction farming, so good stuff there, my question is what about getting my character to this point, if I am careful can getting to this point with Henchmen (New Ranger/Monk Factions Character) work, especially for the missions or even the run to the above areas, or is it advisable to get help for the missions and running to outposts? Cheers Nos |

If you are careful, of course. It is very possible to get to either without dying. Boxing should be easier to get to since the heroes can help out a lot and there aren't any "missions" to get in the way. I know there are runners who can help you get to HFFF, but again, it isn't impossible to do it yourself.

I think Sindy was referring to the fact the Heros help you get TO the Boxing NOT to help with it

they might help get to it but you'll still have to get to level 10 without dying on your own before you can make it to EoTN I highly recommend getting guild members to help you get to lutgardis to do hfff. Let them know that your a survivor and what not and be ready to exit the game if your about to die at any point int he missions leading up to lutgardis.

And yes you have to get to 10, but that is crazy easy in factions. And once you are in EotN, you get buffed to level 20 until you are actually level 20. A good alternative, at any rate. But HFFF does have the advantage of once you are there, you aren't gonna die by lag or something. |

I think it should be pretty good do-able with henchies and heroes. If you're not sure about some parts of the game, ask some thrustworthy friends and explain you are going for survivor.

I just got Legendary last month by farming the 10 wurms just ouside Boreal station n NM until I got to lvl 20, and then HM after that.
I ran a poison arrow/pet build. I farmed it with Olias with a mixed minion-life stealing build and could get the run down to about 3.5 minutes. It's pretty low risk because as a ranger you're attacking at range and the wurms there have no ranged attacks. I used XP scrolls on a lot of runs, a slayer's insight scroll will mean you get 4620 xp every run with Olias in the party. That costs a lot, but the time trade-off was worth it for me. You cannot go across either of the bridges there--one bridge has aloe pop-ups that kill fast (learned that the hard way with another would-be survivor), and if you go across the bridge to the other 3 wurms, pinesols patrol that area in HM. This is neither the cheapest nor the fastest route. HFFF is probably faster and you'll gain gold if you're not burning through xp scrolls. However, I don't have a reliable enough connection to do Killroy's punch-out, and I wanted to earn the xp myself (nothing against leechers, it just wasn't what I wanted to do), so this was a good alternative. If you do it without xp scrolls, you'll make money every run on the drops. Lockpicks, golds, map pieces, and warrior tomes drop periodically. A chest spawns nearly every run, so you'll be able to work on treasure hunter, wisdom, and unlucky titles at the same time if you don't mind spending a ton of money on breaking lockpicks. I run missions with guild members or H/H. I never use PUG's since the coordination is not guaranteed, and some ornery soul might think it's funny to let you die. If I H/H, I have a level 20 monk in my first hero slot, and I have him hot-keyed to use protective spirit and a healing spell on me in tough spots. My ranger has all survivor insignia, a superior vigor rune, and minor ranger runes appropriate runes for my profession. I carry a sundering longbow of fortitude, and I make sure to use my Norn title, which gives a hp boost, in Norn territory. It means my energy pool isn't fabulous, but it's kept me alive in a couple tight spots. If my connection is laggy or I'm tired, I play another non-survivor character. It's too easy to make a fatal maistake when tired, and lagging out in the middle of battle can be death. Good luck to everyone working on this title. |

if you have the money, pay for a survivor run, this will get you a runner that does all the missions+quests that is required to bring you to Lutgardis for HFFF. After you have done this and gotten to lvl 10 or maybe even higher, you should go over to the EotN and get to boxing from there bring scrolls and do again and again and soon(ya right) youll be legendary survivor.

WURMS. WURMS. WURMS. WOOT.
There is another WURM LS out there. kewl. I did this with my War just after the release of GE:WN. It is the BEST way to get the title with almost no chance of death. I will read what the poster above says then edit here. Just so excited to see another Wurm man. As i suspected, a RANGED attacker. Yes doing ranged you can do this with started armor or no armor as you will take 0 damage cause the Snow Wurms are MEELE ONLY. Yes the can not kill you. I do like the way Jae Onasi describes the hard mode deaths. There are 13 Snow Wurms to kill in Normal Mode and only 10 In Hard Mode. The drops are better in hard mode than in normal mode. You might get lucky to get a gold with the forget me not inscription in it and sell that for 20K. Although I am not quite sure why Jae Onasi was using Olias in tha party. Maybe for faster kills. I will try this tonight to see if the XP is changed or not. Just a though. This would also be a KILLA of a way to lvl the Heor's up that I have from Nightfal..Hummm??? My wife has this game and she is getting to lvl 10 in preseaing and then I am running her to the Station so that she can lvl her Survivor and get the title. It is a Necro toon that she has with Mesmer as secondary. She only has NM so she should do OK if she does not get too bored. I have started another one as well and I will use it to farm the Snow Wurms. I want to try and get 10 Million Xp without a death. I will check to see what scroll I used. I think it was the 5 minute Boss one. 175% for 594 XP solo per kill in HM. or 175xp per kill in Normal mode. I will check Last edited by imnotyourmother; Sep 09, 2008 at 02:23 PM // 14:23.. |

I did get guild members to help me in some the missions because I can't risk logging out if I team up with a PUG group, and some missions are too hard to do yourself. I have never logged out yet and was able to contribute to the team - had some close calls though. Otherwise, I leveled up doing missions and quests in Nightfall and factions (by myself no help from anyone), and am at Arborstone right now. Thats going to be a hard one. I have done some of the Kilroy stuff too, but it's just to darn boring to level that way. Frankly its kind of exciting to run quests/missions and figure out ways not to get killed. But great fun too. It's just a different way playing. I don't believe anyone reached the LS title without help from others. But when I get my title I can say I earned it. Just make sure you get your heroes as soon as you can. It doesn't hurt to ask for help in towns when you need help - just mention you are on a survivor track. I have helped other survivors. There are many of us earning our titles the hard way Last edited by Crystal Lake; Sep 10, 2008 at 05:08 AM // 05:08.. |

I was lucky enough that at an early level someone in my guild happened to be going to the Consulate docks and they ferried me so I could get max armor. I bought the highest armor I could and put survivor runes on everything--that's important for getting through at least the first 10 levels, and beneficial the rest of the way. I've added another couple hundred thousand xp on that character since making LS because I had the hit points to do it in some tricky spots. Quote:

Hey all
Thanks for all the replys, I nearly blew it last night I henched Zen Daijun and nearly died at the last point of the mission was down to 5 health, ouch. I have actually found I am enjoying the game much better with the fear of dying, lol. I am going to try and get survivor on my own merit instead of the leeching way. Cheers Nos |

Hi
Thanks for the reply, but I am only at the third mission on the factions campaign, nevermind completing Nightfall, so I have got a long way of surviving before I can think about DoA especially since I do not belong to a guild and play the game using only henchmen. If I survive that long them I will look into the DoA though, but knowing my play skills I will probably die long before that :-) I have just realised that completing all 3 campaigns with Masters / Bonus and EOTN on Normal mode will only get me around 1/8th of the exp needed, damn I have a long way to go. Going for Survivor also teaches you a lot about the game!
I really learned how to start pulling properly, and when to kite and when to bail if things are going south, once death meant something more than a DP. r1 is easy to get. r2 a little tougher, doing it without farming or boxing. r3 is still an accomplishment if you get it by doing missions and quests and skill-capping. Good luck to you! |
